Power Racks

Bronze Level Power Racks – PowerLine Power Rack

If you’re looking for one of the best starter power racks, the PowerLine Power Rack is it.  If you plan on going above 400-500 lbs, check out the Powertec Power Rack below, but if you don’t, then keep reading.  These power racks will satisfy most people’s needs since not many people will be exceeding 500lbs, and for the people who aren’t going to be going past this mark, this is the perfect power rack for them.

18 different adjustable positions, a heavy duty pull up bar, and a 10 year warranty… and the biggest kick… free shipping.  Free shipping is huge because obviously, big steel parts are going to weigh a ton, and shipping can get really expensive.  Set a bench underneath it, set the safeties higher for presses and jerks to failure, the options are limited to your imagination.

Silver Level Power Racks – PowerTec Power Rack

We are so confident you will love this power rack, we have made it our Editor’s Choice Power Rack.  Able to hold 1,000 lbs, equipped with a pull up bar that can hold 400 lbs, and dip bars… this is the ultimate power rack while still being very reasonably priced.  While other power racks will cost you 700.. 800… or well over a thousand without shipping, we have no idea how they were able to make such a high quality power rack for the price.  However, they did, and we personally know a few people who own it, and who lift 500lbs regularly, and have never had a single issue with it.

One issue someone had was with the dip bars being too wide, but someone explained that you can simply switch the angle of the bars easily.. from looking like this /\ to \/ if you can picture the angles in your head.  The guy already loved the power rack, but he loves it even more, which makes sense with adjustable widths for doing dips.  A power tower or pull-up/dip rig can cost you $150+ for a sturdy one, and now you never need to buy one of those either.  No need for a benching rack, just throw a bench under this.  Heavy rack/pin pulls, safely lifting inside of it hitting PR’s on your squat.  The options are endless when it comes to well made power racks like the Powertec Power Rack.  With free shipping, you really can’t beat it.

Power Racks vs Squat Racks

Which one should you buy?  There are a few things you should consider when purchasing power racks or squat racks.  First, what kind of weight lifting do you do, and how much space do you have?  A lot of people go for a cheaper option on the squat rack when they really should be looking at some power racks.  This is a big mistake, and a shame because they want to save a hundred dollars.  If you’re serious about weight lifting and want to put that barbell and stack of iron weights to use, then man up and look at the power racks.  If you don’t think you have enough room to look at power racks as an option for your garage.. make room!  It is infinitely more useful.

Power Racks – Olympic Lifting

There is one exception to this rule.  You love to do Olympic lifting.  Only then would I recommend someone getting a high quality squat rack like the Pendlay Elite Squat Rack.  Otherwise, definitely take a hard look at the power racks listed above, because more often than not, they are the better choice for weight lifters.
